Shauna began practicing as a certified speech-language pathologist in 2005. She has worked on an outpatient brain injury team, inpatient acute care, home health, and now owns a private practice where she can provide services to the populations she is most passionate about. Her areas of specialty include traumatic brain injury (TBI), including concussion/mild TBI, cognitive deficits due to medical conditions (e.g. COVID, dementia, etc.), and social communication training for adults that struggle with interpersonal communication in varied settings. Shauna is also trained in providing gender affirming voice and communication therapy. In addition to being a practicing clinician, Shauna also worked in academia as a clinical professor for 14 years, during which she taught classes and provided clinical instruction within the university clinic, training graduate clinicians in working with these populations. Shauna has also presented nationally, regionally, and locally on the topic of concussion/mild TBI and other rehabilitation related topics, including the benefits of interprofessional collaboration.
